吳明宜微軟宣佈 Windows 10 及 Windows 11 客戶現在可以在 Microsoft Store 上直接下載 Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 。
直到今天之前，WSL 都是預覽版，而且也只能透過 Windows Update 下載及安裝。藉由將 WSL 上架 Microsoft Store，用戶將可更快獲得更新（只要有新版本就能下載），而不需再等 Windows Update 釋出。
此外，原本 WSL 為 Windows 11 用戶的專利，微軟說，在用戶要求下，所有 Windows 10 用戶現在也可以從 Microsoft Store 下載 WSL，使用 Linux GUI 的 App 。
不過 Windows PC 必須具備 Windows 10 21H1 及 Windows 11 21H2 以後版本，同時安裝了 2022 年 11 月更新。當你有了正確的作業系統時，現有用戶可以使用 wsl — update 指令升級到 Store 版本，新用戶則可取得 WSL 。
微軟是在 2018 年公佈 WSL 。 WSL 讓 Windows PC 可以 PowerShell 或 Windows 指令提示原生執行 Linux Binary 。微軟於 2019 年 5 月釋出 WSL 2，大幅提升檔案系統效能，也增加對全系統呼叫的支援，並使用輕量級 VM 執行 Linux 核心。此外，WSL 2 也加入 WSLg (Windows Subsystem for Linux GUI) 支援 GUI 版本的 Linux App，於去年 5 月釋出給 Windows 10 Insiders 測試方案的使用者。
